The Panama Boater Ivory Hat is crafted from natural palm fiber by hand in Ecuador. These hats are handwoven and hand blocked according to traditional local craft by skilled artisans. They are lightweight and breathable, making it the perfect hat to wear in the hot Australian summer. The Boater has a large sized brim of approximately 8 cm - 9 cm in depth.

Features:

  • If you are in-between sizes when purchasing the panama hat, you can adjust the size to your head size by using a small safety pin to fasten inside the centre back band and pull across each other.
  • It can be worn comfortably this way or replace with a stitch.
  • The natural ageing process should be considered as part of the uniqueness of your own treasured hat. Being hand made by skilled artisans each hat has individual variations.

Care & Maintenance:

  • Do not fold or roll these hats for travel packing. Keep dry and if it does get wet, gently reshape it by hand then sit on shelf to dry, You can reshape also by lightly and safely steaming and pressing into shape.
  • For removal of marks lightly use a damp cloth or nappy wipes. First try inconspicuous place to see there is no discolouration when using damp cloth and wipes.

Freight Quotes for Large or Remote Deliveries

Oversized, bulky, or fragile items — or deliveries to remote locations — may need a separate freight quote. We'll be in touch within 48 hours of your purchase. If you decide not to proceed with the quoted cost, a full refund will be issued before dispatch. Please note that once a freight quote has been accepted and the item delivered, it cannot be refunded.

Returns & Exchanges

1. When can I return an item?

Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for unused, unworn, undamaged products with tags attached and proof of purchase.

Return postage is the customer’s responsibility. Items that qualify for a return are issued as credit notes* (valid for 3 years). To use your credit note, please contact our Moss Vale store at (02) 4868 2662.

*Credit Notes

A credit note for the same value will be issued, valid for 3 years from the issue.  As credit notes cannot be used to purchase online, the customer must contact the Moss Vale Store on 02 4868 2662 to make purchases using credit.

SAH will use the Customer's Credit Note in the first instance for any purchases made at Suzie Anderson Home until cleared.

While every effort is made by our staff to identify and apply available credits at the time of sale, it is the customer’s responsibility to retain and present their credit note for redemption within its three (3) year validity period.

2. What if my item arrives damaged or faulty?

Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and descriptions. We’ll endeavour to repair or replace the item. If that’s not possible, a full refund will be issued. Refunds are not available for change of mind.

3. Are there items I can’t return?

Yes, the following are not returnable:

  • Sale or clearance items (unless faulty and not disclosed)
  • Antique, vintage, or handmade items (natural variations are part of their character)
  • Undergarments, jewelry, watches (unless faulty)
  • Custom-made or made-to-order items

4. Do you allow editorial/styling loans?

Yes, with conditions:

  • Full payment required at pick-up
  • Item must be returned in original condition within 7 days
  • Editorial credit must be agreed upon prior to use
  • Full refund issued upon safe return, otherwise may be withheld
