In the Land of Fire and Ice: Horses of Iceland by Guadalupe Laiz is a breathtaking visual journey through one of the world’s most dramatic landscapes. Combining powerful colour and black-and-white imagery, this book captures the raw beauty and spirit of Icelandic horses in their natural environment.
In this compelling follow-up, Laiz expands her lens beyond the horses themselves to reveal the rugged, untamed terrain that shapes them. From snow-covered waterfalls like Skógafoss to the active Fagradalsfjall, each scene is both cinematic and deeply atmospheric. Collaborating with Icelandic artist Þráinn Kolbeinsson, the book also features striking aerial perspectives that showcase the vastness and drama of these remote environments.
A tribute to wildlife, exploration, and conservation, this volume is a captivating addition for those who appreciate photography, nature, and the awe-inspiring beauty of Iceland.
