Description
A beautiful late 18th-century English cherrywood gateleg table, dating to around 1780 and originating from the south of England. Crafted in richly toned cherrywood, this elegant piece reflects the understated practicality and timeless charm characteristic of Georgian country furniture.
The table features the classic gate-leg mechanism, allowing the drop leaves to be easily raised and supported to create a generous surface when required, while folding neatly away when not in use. Over more than two centuries, the cherrywood has developed a wonderfully warm patina, giving the piece remarkable depth, softness, and character that only age can achieve.
